Description:

You will assist the Head of Public Advocacy in strengthening CAGE’s advocacy. As a Press Officer for CAGE you will assist us in advocating for our clients, and be involved in the sharp end of our public awareness campaigns on the issues we are passionate about.

You will be able to develop and maintain relationships with journalists across broadcast, print and alternative media outlets as well as assist CAGE in projecting its voice in foreign media outlets.

 

Main responsibilities include:

  • Managing and delivering media coverage on our campaigns and advocacy priorities.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with media contacts.
  • Monitoring CAGE’s media footprint.
  • Managing media requests received by CAGE.
  • Assisting in updating and maintaining our media database.
  • Drafting press releases, comments and producing media briefings for internal use where
    required.
  • Updating, maintaining and implementing communications strategy and messaging documents.
  • Monitoring public debate around CAGE’s remit.
  • Providing PR support for CAGE’s international teams.
  • Assisting with preparing spokespeople and/or clients for audio visual/written media appearances.
  • Monitoring media and political developments and identifying opportunities for proactive interventions.
