On Saturday 30 August CAGE launched its Africa branch in South Africa, the event was held at the Apartheid Museum attended by the community in Johannesburg.
Yvonne Ridley interviewed in this piece in the Star – one of Johannesburg's most read papers – said:
"one of our areas of concern is Africa and if you’re going to raise the issue of international human rights, it seemed the obvious location was to find a base in South Africa – a country that has emerged from
its own dark period to embrace the 21st century."
