Free the Filton18
Stand with courageous activists held under terrorism powers for opposing genocide

On 6 August 2024, after witnessing a live streamed genocide, 6 courageous actionists took direct action at Elbit Systems factory in Filton, Bristol. The factory is known as a research and development hub but in fact is a site that produces weapons sent for use on Palestinians in Gaza. The 6 actionists smashed up weapons, including quadcopters that have been used in the genocide in Gaza, a drone that shoots out 8 lethal pellets designed to seriously maim or kill those it targets.
The campaign started as the Filton6, rapidly became the Filton10 and is now known as the Filton18 after a total of 3 rounds of arrests by counter terrorism police, including numerous violent dawn raids, traumatising families and loved ones of the 18. All 18 are held on remand in prisons across the UK.
The Filton18 case is an assault on campaigners and marks a significant escalation by the state in defence of Israel. Terrorism legislation undermines due process protections and leads to an abuse of process. Despite being detained pre charge under terrorism powers, none of the 18 have been charged under terrorism legislation, but through back door legal provisions, the Crown Prosecution Service will now attempt to ensure harsh terror-related sentences for alleged offences that would never meet the threshold to be charged under terrorism.
