He was held for 14 years without charge and began his hunger strike in 2005 in order to fight for better conditions and against the torture and inhuman treatment. We welcome his release and repatriation to his homeland and family. Shaker Aamer remains in Guantanamo however - along with 113 others and their struggle for justice must now finally be realised." <div></div>
