French Police raid and fail to stop pro Palestine conference

Paris - A counter protest conference to an arms fair at Le Bourget, which hosts Israeli companies, was raided by French riot police this morning in an attempt to intimidate and stop discussions on Islamophobia and anti-Zionism. The raid carried out by riot police under the pretext of arresting specific individuals, was executed with overwhelming force as clear act of intimidation and psychological warfare targeting of the anti genocide movement in France. 

The counter conference organised by anti militarisation group, Guerre à la Guerre, hosted renowned international academics and activists as well as a host of French thinkers and organisers in roundtable discussions.

The police arrived and surrounded the area before entering the buildings and making at least two arrests. Police initially prevented people from leaving the premises in addition to conducting searches of pop-up tents where they ensued to pop Palestine themed balloons.

CAGE International is present at the conference and is due to deliver a number of sessions to attendees.

We extend our solidarity to all those who are in attendance, to the free Palestine movement and to the organisers. The vital work to stop the genocide and liberate Palestine must continue.”
