Plans To Ban Palestine Action Highlight Urgent Need To Abolish Proscription And Terror Laws

London – Plans announced by the Home Office to ban the anti-genocide direct action campaign group Palestine Action expose the arbitrary nature of proscription powers.

CAGE International, over the past 22 years, has campaigned to highlight the fact that anti-terror laws are a fundamental aspect of the security state's attempt to establish an authoritarian infrastructure aimed at eliminating any opposition.

Palestine Action’s activities fall under international legal obligations imposed on every state to take proactive steps to prevent genocide. As the UK is a leading member of the genocide axis, this obligation is transferred to the British people—55% of whom are virulently opposed to the mass murder of Palestinians.

We are witnessing a crisis between the ruling elite and the general population, which is becoming increasingly aware that their taxes are being misused to fund endless wars and acts of genocide. In order to thwart popular discontent, the security state is desperately seizing powers and eroding basic rights acquired through centuries of struggle.
