A recent Times headline, ‘Muslims Silent on Terror’ refers to the Prevent duty. It is no secret that the Muslim community feel disillusioned by PREVENT and some communities have announced a boycott of the PREVENT program.

As well as those in the Muslim community, education unions and other bodies are critical of PREVENT. The NUT, for instance, says the PREVENT strategy is felt by many teachers to be counter-productive and wide of the mark. It risks closing down the very opportunities where the classroom can be used to develop democracy and explore human rights.

Join us with Yvonne Ridley and Moazzam Begg to discuss the issues surrounding the PREVENT strategy and how we can together challenge & combat racism & Islamophobia.
