The pro-zionist Jewish Chronicle has long seen a total collapse of its editorial standards. The outlet often operates as a third tier smear tabloid of choice when the Sun, Daily Mail or the Times turn down a story.

For a paper that claims to fiercely fight against the discrimination of Jewish communities, it has an unhealthy habit of amplifying far right tropes about Muslims and platforming some of the most rabidly Islamophobic commentators in the UK.

As of late it has increasingly made it a habit of using individuals’ support or perceived proximity to CAGE as an angle of attack.

The latest of such stories picks on CAGE’s upcoming book launch of Dr Tarek Younis’ “The Muslim, State and Mind”, which explores racism and islamophobia in the psy disciplines.

Putting aside the deliberately misleading attack lines against CAGE, this story comes in the context of Shawcross’ review of PREVENT, which was widely condemned – especially by CAGE who has a history with him. Incidentally, Shawcross is a co-owner of The Jewish Chronicle.

What stands out in this regurgitated smear is that the author is David Rose. He’s a journalist who has built his career on covering the abuses that CAGE campaigns on. He has benefited greatly from the access that he’s been given by CAGE and others to write his exclusives. He is an author of books on Guantanamo, police corruption and miscarriages of justice. It’s not only poor form from Rose but embarrassingly deceitful.

This is a fall from grace for Rose that will tarnish his record for good.

Register to our upcoming event on the 9th of March; “Islamophobia in Mental Health and Psychology” with Dr Tarek Younis here.
