Kneecap's Hearing Part of Attempts to Crush Resistance to Genocide

London – Mo Chara, from the Irish hip hop band Kneecap, is due to appear at Westminster Magistrate's Court today on allegations of supporting a proscribed organisation. 

In response Anas Mustapha, Head of Public Advocacy at CAGE International, said:

“Kneecap’s court hearing today illustrates the necessity of our deproscription application. The use of authoritarian terror laws to quell support for colonised peoples and their right resist genocide and ethnic cleansing is an extension of that occupation and a violation of our most basic rights to free speech in the land of Magna Carta.”
